Growing Together: Assessing the Peer Effects of a Growth Mindset Intervention
This project aims to assess the existence of peer effects (or spillovers) for the growth mindset intervention examined in the National Study of Learning Mindsets. For instance, do students who did not receive the intervention benefit from being in contact with students who did? This potential effect is particularly relevant for minority students. We build on recent methodological developments in causal inference, and propose robust methods for testing and estimating peer effects under the current design.
